Holistic Massage Course date
Smileinside is running a Holistic body massage course in King's Lynn on Friday 29th July 2016 10.30-4pm
This is a fully accredited course in conjunction with The Natural Therapy Studio.
A pre-requisite is Anatomy & Physiology.
If you'd like to add this to your therapy menu this will be a great opportunity. We have one student booked in already which means that you will not need to being a model as you will be practicing on reach other - and so you get the added benefit of receiving a massage, thus feeling what the massage techniques actually feel like. This is a tremendous benefit for your clients.
Holistic massage is very similar to Swedish massage and can be shortened to a back, neck and shoulder massage if the client so wishes.
This course teaches massage techniques and principles and is a fantastic basis for further massage techniques such as Sports massage, Warm bamboo massage, etc.
Please get in touch for more info or go to The Natural Therapy studio's website for booking info ... here's the link... make sure you select the King's Lynn venue.
Any questions, get in touch whichever way suits you best :-)
Natural eyelift from a holistic view point
Natural eyelift?! I have just cancelled my initial hospital appointment. I don't want eye surgery - I'm an advocate of natural and holistic remedies!!
I had eyelid surgeries from the age of 6 months old to the age of 8 years old as I was born without muscles in my eyelids, and I always suspected that with time and age I would need further surgery. It looks like that time is now but I dread it instead of feeling blessed at having a free eyelid lift, as I'm terrified of the outcome.
So I used my Balance Procedure cards and balanced first on my day, and then on my eyelids. This gives you the key to your subconscious and as a result, I just felt what to do next
I googled natural eyelid lift. I found a page on eyelid exercises and I also found a page on using egg white protein to tighten the skin on the eyelids. As I'm going more vegan I decided to try the aquafaba that I have in my fridge that's the water that you get from a can of chickpeas and is used to make meringues because it has has similar protein!
So this morning whilst my tea was brewing I lay in bed with slices of cold cucumber on my eyelids and then did the exercises that i subsequently found online.
I used my massage knowledge of manual lymphatic drainage to do drain any excess fluid away my eyelids, face and forehead, usng organic aloe vera gel to tighten and moisturise the delicate skin around my eyes.
I then used to cotton bud to coat my eyelids in aquafaba!
The result is wonderful. Not only do my eyelids feel heaps lighter, my eyes are wider and my spirits have lifted because I've taken control and responsibility for my own health.
I know it's only the start and things will improve daily but I need to persevere.
The above might seem like a faf, but I'd much rather than then expose myself to the risks of eye surgery, the weeks and months of convalescing and the numerous trips to and from Norwich hospital and the uncertainty of the outcome. This is my face we're talking about here, and eye contact iis really important in my world.
So, I encourage you to take responsibility for yourself and see how you feel ... it's certainly made me smileinside B-)

What's the menopause really about?
Having gone through the menopause early at 27 and been on HRT for 13 years I decided that I kinda like to know who I really was and as hormones dictate who you are I decided it was time to get to know the real me.
I dived straight back in with mood swings, weight gain and hot flashes, the night sweats were the worst and really ponged, being vegetarian very surprising why was I smelling so toxic?
I realised that 13 years of taking synthetic hormones with toxic. No wonder hrt increases the risk of cancer.
So I set about detoxing I used crystals in the form of lepidolite to control the night sweats, I drink sage tea, I reduced alcohol later giving up completely most importantly I realised that the Hot Flashes which I renamed power surges were actually an indication of anxiety and if anything made me even vaguely anxious I got a hot flash - my body was being a barometer for anxiety.
I also strongly feel that this is the time that our bodies choose to detox so that we move forward into the next stage of our lives without the toxins we've accumulated over the previous year's
This is probably the most valuable piece of information this is what makes us "Old sages" this is what makes us wise because we realise we won't take that shit anymore from whoever and in whatever form and the Groovy thing is that we are then empowered to live a Charmed life ... surrounded by situations and people who we respect and who respect us - because we have changed our vibration and now send out only positive behaviour behaviour.
I think this is why cougars are so called because as a 40 or 50.something we actually become shit hot in bed as well. We know our bodies and yes, we might need a bit more warming up, but men love a bit of playing around with coconut oil or olive oil as it increases the sensation and shows a confident, sexy woman.who doesn't just agree to sex, but proactively embraces her sexuality, her curves and eho knows how to use them and takes her time to please her man and herself. T.I. double GRR!
There are mgmt phytoestrogens which help us to cruise through it naturally ... switch to.soya milk, eat sweet potatoes, beamsprouts, tofu ... There are lots of naturally occurring oestrogen replacemrnts
i also found evening primrose oil an invaluable supplement, as well as ginseng for energy, I dabbed rosemary oil on my pulse points as this is great for anxiety and so power surges and a multi-vit. Eat applies galore a they are great for your hair and moisturise with the oil of your choice... avocado, coconut, olive ... all natural, nutritious and fabulous.
Oh, and chocolate... dark and high % cocao and you're sorted!
I'd urge you to be as dairy-free as possible as it contains growth hormones and at this stage in life, we don't need them!!!
I.hope this had been useful
My partner mentioned the other day that apparently 80% of Norwegians surveyed recently, do not believe in God. With science and archaeological findings, evolution seems to be the preferred belief.
